The Governor also reminds that during the same time period, there is a traffic ban in all nature reserves for birds on Svalbard. All prohibition zones are collected in the protection regulations here: Regulations on the national parks Sør-Spitsbergen, Forlandet and Nordvest-Spitsbergen, on the nature reserves Nordaust-Svalbard and Søraust-Svalbard, and on the nature reserves for birds on Svalbard - Chapter 2 Nordaust-Svalbard and Søraust-Svalbard (in Norwegian language only).

We encourage everyone who travels in nature on Svalbard to show extra consideration in this vulnerable time for the birds, and that there is restraint on all of Svalbard for all dog breeds from 15 May to 15 August.
