Application for temporary installations for the 2026–2027 winter season
The deadline for applying to set up temporary installations for the upcoming winter season is 15 November 2026.
Authorization from the Governor of Svalbard is required for the establishment of temporary installations intended for camping by the general public for a duration of one week or more during the winter season. This requirement applies within the general travel area, outside of protected areas, and outside of designated planning areas.
To ensure a comprehensive assessment of all applications, a common application deadline has been established. When processing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on the impact on the landscape, biodiversity, and other users of the area.
