Information meeting on the field safety regulations with a focus on the guide approval
The Governor of Svalbard invites guides, tourism and field businesses to a meeting on the new field safety regulations on Wednesday, 25 March at Svalbard folkehøgskole.
The field safety regulations came into force on 1 January 2026, and replaced the regulations on tourism, field arrangements and other travel activities in Svalbard.
The field safety regulations also introduce an approval scheme for Svalbard guides. The requirement to use approved Svalbard guides applies from 1 July 2027.
At the information meeting we will provide information about the guide approval scheme. We aim to showcase our digital portal for registration and approval.
