Program for anniversary celebration 14 August

On Thursday, 14 August, we will celebrate that it is 100 years since Svalbard became part of Norway. The program for the day is now complete.
The celebration will take place in several places in Longyearbyen throughout the day (see map below).
10:00 a.m.: Wreath laying at the Sverdrup memorial stone by Huset
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister of Justice Astri Aas-Hansen will participate.
10:15 a.m.: Wreath laying at the Monument to the Fallen Miners
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister of Justice Astri Aas-Hansen will participate.
11:00 a.m.: Anniversary service in Svalbard Church
HRH Crown Prince Haakon, Prime Minister Støre and Minister of Justice Aas-Hansen will participate.
NB! The congregation must be in place at the church no later than 10:45 a.m.
11:50 a.m.: Ceremony at the monument at Skjæringa with flag raising
Speech by HRH Crown Prince Haakon. Prime Minister Støre and Minister of Justice Aas-Hansen will also participate.
1:30 p.m.: Folk fest at the square
Welcome by local council chairman Terje Aunevik
Speech by HRH Crown Prince Haakon and by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre
Entertainment by local artists
5:00 PM: Anniversary performance at the Culture House
Free admission – first come, first served.
NB! The audience must be in the hall no later than 4:45 PM.
