Emergency Alert Test on 11 June
Wednesday 11 June, is a national test of Emergency Alert on mobile throughout the country, including Svalbard.
The test on 11 June will be done nationwide at 12 noon. At that time, the police will send Emergency Alert on mobile.
Emergency Alert goes out to all updated mobile phones located in Norway and connected to 4G/5G. The National Communications Authority (Nkom) estimates that around 97 percent of mobile phones in active use in Norway can receive Emergency Alert.
Turn off your phone if you do not want to receive the alert
If you do not want to receive the alert, you must turn off your phone or put it in airplane mode from 11:55 to 12:15 on Wednesday 11 June. Turning off the sound to avoid the alert will not help.
