Lifts the evacuation in Nybyen
Based on professional assessments from Skred AS and NVE, the Governor lifts the evacuation in Nybyen from 18.00 today. Traffic bans are maintained in the area above the buildings (see map).

- There is still a danger that the cornices at the top of Gruvefjellet may loosen and fall down, but it is unlikely that they will reach the buildings, says assistant governor Sølvi Elvedahl.
The decision to lift the evacuation was made after a meeting between the Governor, Longyearbyen local council, Skred AS and NVE today.
In collaboration with Skred AS and NVE, the Governor will follow the situation.
